Topic: Common Synchronisation Errors
User: Lucy (view profile)1 Mar 2006 - 11:24
Sometimes when you have set up a new kit and you try to run the Kyero Synchronisation, you get a "synchronisation failed" error.

Most of the time there will also be an explanation for the error, for example "missing descriptions for property REF123". Sometimes however, there is no error.

The most likely cause of this is a failure to find the feed at Kyero. To test this, try surfing directly to your feed URL copying whatever you can see in your system settings for the Kyero feed (including the http://propertyfeed.kyero.com/ part which you can see before the type in box) If you cannot see the page, then you have either typed in your URL incorrectly, or you have not set the feed up with Kyero. If your system settings page doesn't say http://propertyfeed.kyero.com/ then you are using an old version of the kit and you need to upgrade.

If you can surf to the XML page, then the problem is likely to be with your host. They may have a firewall, for example.

If anyone has tried all of the above but is still getting this error, please post below.

I am a new user of the Kyero ASP Kit. I am trying to do this in sequence and I can't synchronise with Kyero. This is what it says:

Synchronisation underway, please do not leave this
page until you see the completion message (the
entire process may take a few minutes)

Synchronisation failed:

Your webmaster should attempt to locate the cause of this error,
alternatively you may  click here to re-attempt the sync ignoring any errors (warning: this may result in no properties being displayed on your website).

I checked that my Kyero XML feed was the same than the one provided by Kyero and it is.

I checked that my kyero feed had not changed and it has not.

I checked that if I put the URL for the feed directly on my browser, it it does display it.

I don't know what is going on.... please help.

Resolved: server did not have MSXML v4 installed - we have a version of the sync script that will work with MSXML v3 if anybody else requires this.

User: luisamirodali (view profile)16 Jan 2009 - 10:05
Hello. This Louise again. I just reloaded the new version of the kit and I'm having the same problem than before. Please contact me ASAP. Thank you.

User: Lucy (view profile)16 Jan 2009 - 10:23
Hi Louise

The problem will be the same as before: your web server does not have MSXML4 installed, so the main version of the kit can't work. If you replace the sync script with the one that Julian sent you last time, it will work.
